Recorded on December 21, 2012 at the Fox Theater in Pomona, California, Ending Is the Beginning: The Mitch Lucker Memorial Show was held to both honor the late Suicide Silence vocalist, who passed away a month prior from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident, and to raise money for the future education of his young daughter. For the performance, the band utilized the talents of a small army of guest vocalists, including Lamb of God's Randy Blythe, Machine Head's Robb Flynn, Soulfly's Max Cavalera, Job for a Cowboy's Jonny Davy, and All Shall Perish's Eddie Hermida, the latter of whom would eventually go on to replace Lucker as Suicide Silence's official lead vocalist.
